Physical use
Yarrow is a herb that has been used in healing practices for thousands of years. Its Latin name, Achillea, comes from Achilles, the hero of Greek mythology. Legend has it that Achilles gave yarrow to his soldiers to heal wounds and stop bleeding during the Trojan War. Traditionally, yarrow was used as a diaphoretic to help the body sweat during fevers. Today it is most commonly known as a key ingredient in YEP tea, which combines yarrow with elderflowers and peppermint leaves to ease cold symptoms.
